Redesigning museum website

Redesigning parts of a website for the museum:

The Louvre.

Problem

Analytics show that many users are looking for information about prominent works of art but leave before finding what they want.

Understanding users

To better understand what museum visitors look out for and need in a website.

Did they plan their visits to the museum website?
- How did they do it?
- How do they explore and navigate through the website?

Findings

- Visitors want simple and clear directions to visit.
- They want the website in their language to understand better.
- They want engaging and insightful commentary to understand, learn and appreciate the work.
- They want to enjoy and immerse themselves in the exhibitions

Understanding current website

 -Navigation was unclear and cluttered
- A lot of information on the homepage

Ideation

 - Visitor-centric
- Essential, relevant and useful content
- Highlighted important information, the museum’s

opening hours in a dedicated space
- Visually prominent design
- Visitors to select their choice of language
